The agency's services include education, healthcare, relief and social services, camp infrastructure improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. UNRWA is primarily funded through voluntary contributions from various donors, which underscores its reliance on international support to fulfill its mission and objectives.
Job Overview: The internship/volunteer position within the UNRWA's Department of Internal Oversight Services (DIOS) is designed to provide practical support in the areas of reporting, data management, and intake processes. The intern will gain valuable exposure to professional investigative support work in a United Nations context. The primary purpose of this internship is to assist DIOS in enhancing its reporting and data management capabilities, which are crucial for effective oversight and investigative functions. The intern will engage in various activities that involve organizing, verifying, compiling, and presenting information that is essential for investigative intake, case monitoring, and management reporting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the DIOS can operate efficiently and effectively in its mandate to oversee and support investigative activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of duties under the guidance of designated DIOS ID staff. These responsibilities include: maintaining and updating intake, case-tracking, and reporting tools utilized by DIOS ID; reviewing, organizing, and consolidating intake-related information and documentation; preparing statistical summaries, tables, dashboards, briefing notes, and other management information products as required; conducting data quality checks to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of information entered into relevant tracking systems; organizing documents and records in compliance with confidentiality, information management, and record-keeping requirements; and providing additional administrative and analytical support related to intake, reporting, and data management as requested. The internship is designed for individuals who are either currently pursuing their studies or have recently graduated, thus allowing them to gain practical experience in a professional setting. The emphasis is on developing skills and knowledge relevant to the role rather than requiring extensive prior work experience.

Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of Jordan may need to secure the appropriate visa and work authorization prior to commencing the internship.
