The NATO Analyst Concept Development position is situated within the Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and focuses on enhancing NATO's military capabilities through strategic foresight and concept development. The role involves working within the Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate (SPP), which formulates policies and strategies to support NATO's political and military leadership. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating Concept Development and Experimentation projects, conducting strategic analysis, and developing solution-oriented ideas to address capability gaps. This position requires collaboration within a multinational team and contributes to the transformation of NATO's military capabilities by providing analytical advice and insights that shape future defense strategies and operational concepts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the NATO Analyst Concept Development include managing and coordinating various Concept Development and Experimentation projects and activities. The incumbent will design, organize, and perform strategic analysis activities to support the development of strategic concepts, ensuring clarity and coherence in the documentation process. Conducting research to generate transformational ideas that address military capability gaps is a continuous responsibility, which involves attending conferences, participating in workshops, and analyzing post-experiment data. The analyst will also conduct strategic analysis to assess the feasibility and robustness of concepts, support experimentation and validation activities, and analyze proposed solutions to determine their potential contributions to NATO's future capabilities. Additionally, the role requires serving as an expert in operational experimentation and participating in the planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of experiments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a University Degree and at least 2 years of function-related experience, or a Higher Secondary education with completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification and 4 years of post-related experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience in Concept Development, Strategic and Operational Research/Analysis, Systems Analysis, Experimentation, or related techniques in a military environment is essential. Practical experience in managing programs and projects related to military capability studies is required, along with expertise in applying analytical methods to defense domain issues, including war gaming, computer modeling, and simulation. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary, along with good briefing abilities.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a University Degree in a relevant field, such as military studies, international relations, or strategic studies. Alternatively, candidates with a Higher Secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification may also be considered, provided they have the requisite experience. The educational qualifications should align with the analytical and strategic nature of the role, emphasizing the importance of a solid foundation in military concepts and defense strategies.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the application of Concept Development, Strategic and Operational Research/Analysis, Systems Analysis, and Experimentation within a military context.
