Job Overview: The position of Human RightsInformation Management System (HRIMS) Expert is crucial for the UNDP's efforts in enhancing the management and dissemination of human rights information. The HRIMS Expert will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive information management system that supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of human rights data. This role requires a deep understanding of human rights issues, data management practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners. The expert will also be expected to provide technical guidance and support to ensure that the HRIMS is effectively utilized to inform policy decisions and promote accountability in human rights practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the Human Rights Information Management System (HRIMS) to facilitate the collection, analysis, and reporting of human rights data.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and ensure that the HRIMS meets the requirements of various users.
Provide training and support to users of the HRIMS to ensure effective utilization of the system.
Conduct regular assessments of the HRIMS to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Prepare reports and presentations on human rights data and trends to inform decision-making processes.
Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations in the management of human rights information.
Liaise with international organizations and partners to share best practices and enhance the effectiveness of the HRIMS.
Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise in human rights issues and information management systems.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in training and capacity building related to data management.
Educational Background: A master's degree in human rights, social sciences, information management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in data management or information systems would be an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in human rights, data management, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable. Proven track record of developing and implementing information management systems is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Pakistan would be an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the HRIMS implementation.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration will be specified upon selection. The position is full-time, and the expert will be expected to work closely with the UNDP team in Pakistan. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and additional benefits may be provided as per UNDP policies.
