Job Overview: The position involves supporting the delivery of integrated child development and protection services through Makani centers located in Azraq and Zaatari refugee camps. These centers provide essential services such as learning support, skills building, psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support, and parenting programs to children and adolescents. The consultant will work closely with Syrian Incentive-Based Volunteers (IBVs) who fulfill various roles within the program, including center managers, program facilitators, and data entry personnel. The consultant is expected to have a strong understanding of child protection principles and community-based programming, as well as the ability to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with UNICEF staff and IBVs to implement child development and protection programs effectively.
Conduct program monitoring and evaluation to assess the impact of services provided at Makani centers.
Collect and analyze field data to identify quality gaps and areas for improvement.
Prepare structured reports on program activities and outcomes.
Provide training and support to IBVs to enhance their capacity in delivering services.
Ensure adherence to child protection principles and referral mechanisms in all program activities.
Facilitate communication between UNICEF and community stakeholders to promote program visibility and engagement.
Participate in regular meetings and workshops to share best practices and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in program monitoring, community-based programming, social protection, or child protection within a humanitarian or development context. Experience working in refugee camp settings in Jordan is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of Makani sub-programs and components, child protection principles, and community-based service delivery models. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with proficiency in standard MS Office tools and data entry systems.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, particularly in program monitoring and community-based programming. Prior experience in refugee camp settings is essential, as is familiarity with integrated child development programs and volunteer-based models.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, while a working knowledge of English is also required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is four months, and it requires on-site work with travel. The role has been assessed as elevated risk for child safeguarding, necessitating additional vetting and background checks.
