Job Overview:
The Research Analyst for Environment and Climate Resilience will play a crucial role in supporting UNDP's initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and resilience to climate change in Pakistan. This position involves conducting comprehensive research and analysis on environmental issues, climate change impacts, and resilience strategies. The analyst will be expected to gather and synthesize data, prepare reports, and provide evidence-based recommendations to inform policy and program development. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to ensure that research findings are effectively integrated into project planning and implementation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on environmental and climate resilience issues relevant to Pakistan, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate research insights into design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation.
  • Engage with government officials, NGOs, and community groups to gather input and feedback on research initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of climate resilience projects, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on global and national trends in environmental policy and climate change adaptation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products, including policy briefs and technical papers.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to disseminate research findings and promote best practices in climate resilience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and presentation.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of environmental policies and climate change issues in Pakistan.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, or a related field is required. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be an advantage. Candidates should have a strong academic background with a focus on research methodologies and data analysis.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in research and analysis related to environmental issues and climate resilience is required. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs in Pakistan is highly desirable. Proven track record of conducting research projects and producing high-quality reports is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role with a contract duration of 220 days spread over 12 months. The role is expected to be full-time, and candidates should be prepared to work flexibly to meet project demands. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
