Job Overview: The Consultant for the Development of Technical Guidelines will play a crucial role in creating comprehensive guidelines that will aid in the implementation of UNICEF's programs aimed at supporting vulnerable children. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough research on existing technical guidelines related to child welfare and protection.
Collaborate with UNICEF staff and external partners to gather insights and feedback on the guidelines.
Draft and revise technical guidelines based on research findings and stakeholder input.
Ensure that the guidelines are evidence-based, culturally appropriate, and aligned with UNICEF's strategic priorities.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to present the guidelines and gather further feedback.
Provide technical support and training to UNICEF staff and partners on the implementation of the guidelines.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the guidelines post-implementation and make necessary adjustments.
Prepare reports and documentation to communicate the development process and outcomes of the guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in child welfare, protection, or related fields.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience in drafting technical documents.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions.
Familiarity with UNICEF's mission, values, and operational frameworks.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in social sciences, public health, education, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in child protection or welfare will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in child welfare, protection, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly UNICEF, is highly desirable. Proven track record of developing technical guidelines or similar documents is essential.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region will be considered an asset.
