Job Overview:
The Research Analyst position focuses on Wash (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and Urban Resilience in Punjab, Pakistan. The role involves conducting thorough research and analysis to support the development and implementation of projects aimed at enhancing urban resilience and improving water and sanitation services. The analyst will be expected to gather and analyze data, prepare reports, and provide insights that will inform policy decisions and project strategies. This position requires a strong understanding of urban development issues, particularly in the context of water and sanitation, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. The assignment is structured over a period of 220 days within a 12-month timeframe, emphasizing the need for a dedicated and focused approach to the tasks at hand.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: conducting comprehensive research on water, sanitation, and urban resilience issues; analyzing data and trends to inform project development; preparing detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders; collaborating with local authorities and community organizations to gather insights and feedback; contributing to the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks; ensuring that all research activities align with UNDP's strategic objectives; participating in workshops and meetings to present findings and recommendations; and providing technical support to project teams as needed. The analyst will also be expected to stay updated on best practices and innovations in the field of urban resilience and water management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in research and analysis, with a focus on urban development, water, and sanitation issues. Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with UNDP's mission and values, as well as experience working in developing countries, will be considered an asset. Candidates should also exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex issues.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required. Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in research, analysis, or project management, particularly in the areas of water, sanitation, and urban resilience.
