Job Overview:
The Research Analyst-Education position is designed to support UNDP's initiatives in the education sector within Punjab, Pakistan. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Research Analyst-Education include but are not limited to: conducting qualitative and quantitative research on educational issues; analyzing data to identify trends and gaps in the education sector; preparing detailed reports and presentations based on research findings; collaborating with local and national stakeholders to gather insights and validate research outcomes; providing technical assistance in the formulation of education policies and programs; monitoring and evaluating the impact of educational initiatives; participating in workshops and meetings to share research findings; and contributing to the development of knowledge products that disseminate best practices and lessons learned in education.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to conduct research and synthesize complex information. Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools is essential. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences. Familiarity with the education sector in Pakistan and experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations will be considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the principles of sustainable development and social equity.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline combined with significant experience in education research may also be considered. Advanced training or certifications in research methodologies or data analysis will be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, or program evaluation within the education sector. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a track record of successfully managing research projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Urdu or Punjabi is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the quality of research conducted in the region. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 220 days spread over 12 months. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time and may need to travel within Punjab as required for research purposes.
