Job Overview:
The position of on-call Graphic Designers under the UNDP-IC-2026-020-LTA is designed to provide creative and visual support for various projects and initiatives undertaken by UNDP in India. The selected candidates will be expected to deliver high-quality graphic design services that align with UNDP's branding and communication strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to produce visually appealing materials. The Graphic Designers will be engaged on an as-needed basis, providing flexibility to respond to the dynamic needs of UNDP's projects. The initial contract will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance evaluations. The designers will be responsible for creating a variety of materials, including brochures, reports, presentations, and digital content, ensuring that all outputs meet the organization's standards and effectively communicate key messages.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design high-quality graphic materials for various UNDP projects, including brochures, flyers, reports, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand their design needs and provide creative solutions that align with project objectives.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to UNDP branding guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity across all materials.
  • Revise and refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of final products.
  • Stay updated on design trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality of work.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Provide support in the development of visual content for social media and other digital platforms.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance project visibility and impact.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in graphic design software and techniques will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in a development or non-profit context. Experience working with international organizations or UN agencies will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Hindi or other regional languages, is considered a plus and will enhance communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of three years, subject to annual performance evaluations. The position is part-time and offers flexibility in working hours. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's policies for individual contractors.
