Job Overview:
The Digital Communications Support position is integral to the Human Resources for Health (HRP) and Leadership and Human Resources (LHR) departments within WHO. The incumbent will provide comprehensive support in digital communications, web management, and internal information dissemination, ensuring compliance with WHO standards and enhancing the visibility of departmental outputs. The role involves managing digital content, social media, newsletters, and internal communications, while also monitoring communication quality and coordinating with various teams. This position is crucial for maintaining effective communication strategies that align with WHO's mission and objectives, and it requires a proactive approach to digital content management and communication monitoring.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Digital Content Management: Develop, update, and maintain HRP/LHR web pages, ensuring content is current, well-formatted, and optimized for user experience. Propose improvements to website structure and usability, and coordinate with the WHO web team for synchronization.
  • Social Media and Newsletter Support: Schedule and publish content on HRP social media platforms, support the dissemination of the HRP Newsletter, prepare internal communications, and analyze digital platform performance.
  • Internal Communication and Visual Support: Maintain departmental SharePoint sites, manage the HRP photo library, prepare internal updates, and perform basic graphic design tasks.
  • Communication Monitoring and Quality Control: Monitor departmental email inboxes, process digital inquiries, and review technical documents for compliance with WHO standards.
  • Coordination and Follow-up: Use tracking tools to monitor deadlines, coordinate with internal and external partners, and provide support to colleagues on digital communication procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning. They should possess effective organizational and problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and flexibility to adapt to changing environments. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to managing a large volume of work and the ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in communications, public health, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of digital communication strategies and web management principles, as well as familiarity with WHO policies and procedures.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in digital communications, web management, or a related field. Experience working within international organizations or in public health settings is highly desirable. The role requires a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work effectively under pressure.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French or Arabic is considered an asset. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills in the required languages to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Tunisia. The contract duration is subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance, with no guarantee of renewal. The Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover living expenses, and comprehensive insurance coverage is included. Additional benefits include training access, annual leave, and allowances for relocation and exit upon successful completion of the assignment.
