Job Overview:
The role of the Financial Assistant is crucial in executing and supporting the operational processes of accounting, treasury, taxes, and financial management within the office. The position ensures timely and reliable recording of information, compliance with fiscal obligations, and proper processing of payments in accordance with NRC policies and current regulations. The Financial Assistant will also be responsible for adhering to NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines while supporting the implementation of the support function portfolio as per the action plan. Additionally, the role involves preparing and developing status reports required by the area leader and management, ensuring proper filing of documents, and promoting ideas to strengthen support functions. The Financial Assistant will provide first-level information management to the NRC Financial Management team, making this position integral to the organization's financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute and support accounting, treasury, tax, and financial management processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial information.
  • Comply with fiscal obligations and ensure proper payment processing.
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
  • Support the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the action plan.
  • Prepare and develop required status reports for area leaders and management.
  • Ensure proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
  • Promote and share ideas to enhance support functions.
  • Provide first-level information management to the NRC Financial Management team. 1
  • Assist in the use of accounting software and maintain knowledge of financial regulations and practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Technologist or student in the final semesters of Public Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in financial support functions within humanitarian contexts.
  • Previous work experience in complex and changing environments.
  • Demonstrable experience related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language is required.
  • At least one (1) year of proven experience in a similar role.
  • Technical English knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience with accounting software is highly valued. 1
  • Knowledge and management of accounting programs.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree or be in the final stages of their studies in Public Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields. This educational background is essential to understand the financial processes and regulations that govern the role of Financial Assistant.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one (1) year of proven experience in a similar role, particularly in financial support functions within humanitarian contexts. Candidates should have experience working in complex and dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills. Experience with accounting software and financial management practices is also essential.

Languages:
Basic knowledge of English is mandatory for this position, while technical English proficiency is highly desirable. This language requirement ensures effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.
