Job Overview:
The Digital Impact Associate position at UNICEF involves performing procedural and specialized activities related to the organization's ICT systems. This includes managing laptop administration, connectivity, infrastructure, and emergency operations. The role requires the installation and routine configuration of ICT system components, user orientation, and managing network and telecom infrastructure. The associate will also handle procedural activities that do not necessitate specialized IT training, such as maintaining technical documentation and processing user requests. Given the complex context of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, particularly in response to the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak, the associate must demonstrate strong coordination, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity to effectively support vulnerable populations, especially children and at-risk communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The major duties and responsibilities of the Digital Impact Associate include providing general ICT and office support, minimal ICT administration, ensuring cybersecurity, and protecting digital assets. The associate will be responsible for troubleshooting ICT issues, maintaining user documentation, and serving as a focal point for user requests. Additionally, the role may involve coordinating with national authorities and other stakeholders to ensure effective ICT support in humanitarian contexts, particularly in response to health crises.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must have a minimum of six years of practical work experience in information technology, demonstrating systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Fluency in French is required, and knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is desirable. Experience in telecommunications and network management is highly sought after, along with relevant experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts. Professional or university courses related to the field of work are also highly desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a secondary education in a related field. Additional qualifications in information technology or related disciplines are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant work experience in information technology, with a focus on systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving. Experience in telecommunications and network management is particularly valued, as is relevant experience in development and humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
