Job Overview: The position involves recruiting a national consultant for the mid-term review of the PONAS project. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
Conducting a comprehensive review of the PONAS project, including its objectives, implementation strategies, and outcomes to date.
Engaging with project stakeholders, including government officials, community representatives, and project staff, to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Analyzing project data and documentation to assess the effectiveness and impact of the project interventions.
Preparing a detailed report that summarizes the findings of the review, including strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Presenting the findings to UNDP and relevant stakeholders, and facilitating discussions on the recommendations.
Ensuring that the review process is transparent and inclusive, allowing for feedback from all relevant parties.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English.
Familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures and development goals is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in project management or evaluation methodologies would be beneficial.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in project evaluation, monitoring, or management, preferably within the context of international development. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as the project operates in Burkina Faso. Proficiency in English is also required to facilitate communication with international stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages would be an asset but is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to be a short-term engagement focused on the mid-term review of the PONAS project. The consultant will be required to submit their proposals through the UNDP Quantum supplier portal by the specified deadline. The role is expected to be full-time during the review period, and the consultant will be compensated according to UNDP's rates for individual contractors.
