Job Overview:
The Finance Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Responsible in managing the financial aspects of the base. This includes ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with SI’s standards and donor requirements. The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining the cash box and cash/bank books, monitoring, inputting, and archiving accounting documents. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage financial transactions securely. The Finance Officer will also be involved in preparing monthly financial reports and ensuring that all financial activities align with the organization's procedures and donor expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer's duties include managing the base office accounting, planning and controlling cash advances, recording all transactions, ensuring timely monthly accounts reports, and preparing necessary administrative documents. The officer will also be responsible for daily cash and bank transaction records, monthly bank reconciliations, managing financial documents for payments, collecting boarding passes from travelers, and ensuring all advances are cleared within agreed timelines. Additionally, the Finance Officer will check that supporting documents comply with SI procedures, ensure all accounting documents are translated into English, and archive documents according to SI protocols. The role also involves importing base books into SAGA and ensuring all invoices are stamped and filed appropriately. The Finance Officer will support the finance responsible in cash forecasting and manage funds transfer to bases through Money Transfer Agents (MTA).

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 2 years in a similar position is required. The role demands strong technical skills in accountancy, analytical skills, and proficiency in relevant accounting software, as well as advanced Excel skills. Transversal skills such as advanced communication, time management, autonomy, organization, and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for managing financial operations effectively within the humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in a finance-related role. Candidates should have a proven track record of handling financial management tasks and responsibilities similar to those outlined in the job description.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and documentation within the organization and with stakeholders.
