Job Overview:
The position is for an intern who will support the team in various missions related to agricultural water management. The intern will be responsible for conducting an internal and external documentary review, identifying irrigation projects by ACF, and performing targeted research among international organizations, research institutes, and NGOs working in agricultural water. The intern will analyze collected resources, assess approaches and techniques for agricultural water management, and conduct targeted interviews with field and headquarters teams to identify best practices and lessons learned. The intern will consolidate the information gathered, highlighting technical (irrigation systems, agro-ecological practices) and organizational approaches. Additionally, the intern will produce short technical sheets in both French and English on efficient agricultural water approaches, integrating tools, illustrations, and practical recommendations. The intern will also assist in disseminating these sheets and co-facilitate at least one webinar to present the findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include:
  • Conducting a comprehensive internal and external documentary review related to agricultural water management.
  • Identifying and cataloging ACF's irrigation projects as reported by Regional Technical Officers (RTOs).
  • Performing targeted documentary research with international organizations, research institutes, and NGOs focused on agricultural water.
  • Analyzing internal and external resources collected during the research phase.
  • Assessing current approaches and techniques in agricultural water management.
  • Conducting targeted interviews with ACF's field and headquarters teams to gather insights on best practices and lessons learned.
  • Consolidating the information collected and emphasizing technical and organizational approaches.
  • Producing concise technical sheets in both French and English on identified themes related to efficient agricultural water practices.
  • Integrating relevant tools, illustrations, and practical recommendations into the technical sheets. 1
  • Proposing a strategy for disseminating the technical sheets effectively. 1
  • Co-facilitating at least one webinar to present the technical sheets and findings to a broader audience.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Enrollment in a program related to agronomy, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), rural engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural water management, irrigation, or agroecology.
  • Experience in conducting bibliographic research and drafting synthesis notes.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting technical interviews.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Recognized for rigor, organization, and autonomy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a French educational institution that can provide a convention de stage (internship agreement). This is a mandatory requirement for the internship.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some experience in conducting research and drafting reports, particularly in the fields of agricultural water management or related areas. Previous internships or academic projects related to these topics will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory for this position, as the intern will be required to produce documents in both languages. Knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's profile.

The internship is for a duration of 6 months, based in Montreuil at 102 rue de Paris. The desired start date for the contract is May 4, 202
  • The internship is compensated at a rate of 4.57 euros net per hour, based on a 35-hour work week. The weekly working time is set at 38.75 hours. Additionally, the intern will receive meal vouchers valued at 8 euros, with 60% of the cost covered by ACF, and 50% reimbursement of public transport expenses.
