Job Overview: The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager for the Cuba Crisis-Response will oversee all logistics activities related to the quantification, shipment, receipt, storage, warehousing, dispatch, and distribution of goods. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations in Cuba. The manager will coordinate shipments from vendors to partners, ensuring that logistics operations align with the needs of the program. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and solving logistics challenges, applying principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability. The manager will work closely with programming leads to synchronize the supply of goods with programming needs, ensuring compliance with CRS and donor regulations, as well as international and local inventory accountability standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Manager will be responsible for a variety of key tasks including: collaborating with direct reports and programming leads to conduct pipeline analyses; managing logistics service requirements and delivery schedules; anticipating and addressing potential supply chain issues; supervising and coaching team members; assessing transportation resources and storage facilities; maintaining relationships with port operations and key suppliers; participating in coordination meetings; planning and managing the supply chain from vendor to port; overseeing shipping execution; ensuring accurate inventory records; and fostering a learning environment for staff and partners. The manager will also be responsible for creating high-quality product movement reports and ensuring compliance with established guidelines and data quality standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a relevant field, along with a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in supply chain or logistics management, demonstrating progressive responsibility. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field, experience in relief supply chain management, and professional certifications in Supply Chain. Familiarity with commodity tracking systems and logistics management experience in Latin America and the Caribbean are highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field is required for this position. A Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or a relevant field is strongly preferred, as is equivalent experience in logistics management.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain or logistics management, with a focus on progressively responsible roles. Experience in relief supply chain management is preferred, particularly in the context of humanitarian assistance.
Languages: Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for this position. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication and coordination within the diverse teams and communities served by CRS.
