Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of logistics for humanitarian response programming in Cuba. This position is essential to ensure that all programs and operations have the necessary goods and services available when needed, thereby contributing to high-quality programs aimed at serving the poor and vulnerable populations. The officer will leverage their knowledge and experience to coordinate logistics needs and address challenges, applying principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the process. The role involves working closely with the supply chain team and relevant programming staff to ensure that logistics services align with pipeline requirements, identifying challenges in supply chain management, and providing actionable recommendations. The Logistics Officer will also support the implementation of logistics processes related to the receipt of items at ports or airports, transportation, storage, and dispatch, ensuring compliance with CRS and donor regulations as well as international and local supply chain standards. This position requires effective collaboration with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate purchase requisitions, as well as providing coaching and support to CRS and partner staff to enhance their capacity in implementing logistics processes accurately and transparently. The Logistics Officer will maintain updated documentation for all logistics activities and ensure that inventory movements are recorded in compliance with organizational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including but not limited to: coordinating with the supply chain team and programming staff to meet logistics service requirements; identifying and addressing challenges in supply chain management; supporting the implementation of logistics processes for the receipt, transportation, storage, and dispatch of items; collaborating with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate purchase requisitions; providing coaching and support to CRS and partner staff to ensure compliance with logistics processes; maintaining updated files with all required documentation related to logistics activities; ensuring accurate recording of inventory movements in the Insight system; preparing and reviewing reports prior to submission; and ensuring adherence to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, safety, and health requirements throughout logistics operations. The officer will also help coordinate and supervise activities related to commodity receipt, transportation, distribution, and disposal, ensuring that all activities are fully documented and compliant with organizational standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a relevant field, along with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement management. Fresh graduates may also be considered for this role. Preferred qualifications include professional certification(s) in supply chain or a related field, experience working in an international organization, and familiarity with commodity tracking systems. Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean is highly desirable, as is knowledge of political dynamics, infrastructure, market conditions, and related laws and regulations in the region. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio, is essential, along with strong planning, coordination, prioritization, and time management skills. Candidates should demonstrate good analytical skills, ethical conduct, and the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of supply chain management and logistics operations, particularly in a humanitarian context. Candidates with additional certifications in supply chain management or related disciplines will have a competitive advantage.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement management. This experience should ideally include exposure to international organizations and familiarity with commodity tracking systems. Fresh graduates may be considered, but prior experience in logistics or supply chain roles will be highly beneficial for candidates seeking to excel in this position.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role, as effective communication in these languages is essential for coordinating logistics operations and collaborating with diverse teams. Additional Notes:
The position is expected to last from July 1, 2026, to December 2027, indicating a fixed-term contract duration. The role is classified at salary grade 7, and candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time as part of their responsibilities. The Logistics Officer will not have supervisory responsibilities but will play a key role in supporting and coaching other staff members.
