Job Overview:
The position of Stagiaire involves providing support to the delegated management of Emergencies through various missions. The intern will contribute to the administrative support of the Emergency Response and Recovery Unit (ERRU) and its communication efforts. Responsibilities include assisting in the organization of the strategic workshop for ERRU scheduled for September 2026, coordinating and facilitating meetings or working sessions as needed, ensuring note-taking and dissemination of information. The intern will also contribute to various activity reports, communication reports for ERRU, and the editing of technical sheets. Additionally, the intern will coordinate the dissemination of communication from the unit to other departments within Action contre la Faim, support the development of alert systems and context analyses, and assist in monitoring global contexts and preparing exploratory missions. The role also includes support for financial aspects and grant writing, as well as the development of tools for the unit and research for funding opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the ERRU and assist in communication efforts.
  • Help organize the strategic workshop for ERRU scheduled for September 2026 and contribute to its capitalisation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings or working sessions as required, ensuring effective note-taking and dissemination of information.
  • Assist in the preparation of various activity reports, including KPIs and situational notes.
  • Contribute to ERRU communication reports, including the Roster Newsletter and development of success stories.
  • Assist in editing technical sheets for ERRU, including the presentation booklet.
  • Coordinate the dissemination of communication from the unit, sharing photos, reports, and experiences with other ACF departments.
  • Support the development of alert systems and context analyses.
  • Contribute to global context monitoring and assist in the regular watch report editing. 1
  • If necessary, assist in writing context analysis papers, including desk reviews and trend analyses, and prepare exploratory missions. 1
  • Support the monitoring and development of financial aspects and grants. 1
  • Assist in writing project proposals and donor reports. 1
  • Help develop tools for the unit and support funding research.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following qualities: a strong commitment to the mission of Action contre la Faim, effective organizational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, autonomy, proactivity, and excellent writing skills. The candidate should be in their first or second year of a Master's program in Political Science, International Humanitarian Action, or a related field. Previous experience working in a team setting, whether through associations, collective projects, or international experiences, is highly valued.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a Master's degree (Master 1 or 2) in Political Science, International Humanitarian Action, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the specific challenges faced in emergency situations.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some level of experience working in teams, which can be gained through previous internships, volunteer work, or academic projects. Experience in humanitarian settings or related fields is a plus but not mandatory. The ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the primary working language will be French. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international partners and stakeholders. Additional languages relevant to the regions where Action contre la Faim operates would be considered an asset.

The internship is for a duration of 6 months, based in Montreuil, France, at 102 rue de Paris. The desired start date for the position is July 1, 202
  • The internship is compensated at a rate of 4.57 euros net per hour, based on a 35-hour work week, with a total weekly working time of 38.75 hours. Interns will receive meal vouchers valued at 8 euros, with 60% covered by ACF, and 50% reimbursement for public transport costs. ACF has a telework policy that allows for some remote work, although regular presence at the Montreuil office is expected, with approximately three days per month dedicated to meetings and collective events.
