Job Overview:
The Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate will play a crucial role in implementing UNHCR's livelihood, graduation, and economic inclusion strategies in the Huye Field Office. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with partners, government agencies, and the private sector to enhance the economic inclusion of refugees and host community members. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders to document best practices, generate knowledge, and ensure that all parties understand the potential for economic inclusion. The role also involves regular communication with the Head of Field Office and other relevant units to address strategic and operational issues related to UNHCR's programs in Rwanda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: assisting in identifying opportunities for collaboration between UNHCR's protection work and the economic inclusion objectives of development partners; establishing and maintaining reporting and knowledge exchanges among stakeholders; engaging in development planning and coordination with local government entities; exploring partnerships to enhance economic inclusion; working with the private sector to integrate refugees into labor forces and supply chains; collecting information on legal frameworks regarding work rights; supporting the implementation of socioeconomic inclusion strategies; participating in assessments to inform interventions; providing technical assistance on livelihoods and graduation strategies; liaising with partners and authorities on related issues; preparing field reports and making recommendations for interventions; and performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Studies, or related fields. Additionally, a minimum of three years of relevant experience is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical and data analysis skills, as well as experience in development partnerships within Rwanda. Competencies such as accountability, adaptability, client orientation, communication, and professionalism are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in fields such as Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Studies, or other related disciplines. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of livelihood and economic inclusion strategies and for effectively engaging with various stakeholders.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in areas related to livelihoods, economic inclusion, or development partnerships. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector, to implement effective programs that enhance the economic well-being of refugees and host communities.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a working knowledge required. French and Kinyarwanda are also mandatory, with candidates expected to have at least a working knowledge of both languages. Fluency in these languages will facilitate effective communication with various stakeholders and enhance the incumbent's ability to perform their duties effectively.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and satisfactory performance. The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) will be provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, transportation, and other basic needs.
