Job Overview: The consultant will work under the supervision of the People and Culture Section at UNICEF. The primary function of this position is to conduct an initial language assessment of participating staff and group participants according to their proficiency levels. The consultant will be responsible for developing an English language learning plan and training methodology that is specifically adapted to adult learners and professional work environments. Regular English language training sessions will be delivered for UNICEF staff members, which may include both individual and group-based training. The consultant will also develop tailored learning materials, exercises, and practical assignments that meet the communication needs of the UNICEF workplace. Additionally, the consultant will support participants in enhancing their written and oral communication skills, which include emails, reports, presentations, and participation in meetings. Periodic assessments will be conducted to monitor learning progress, and the consultant will provide monthly progress reports along with recommendations for continued learning. A final report summarizing the activities implemented, participation rates, progress achieved, and recommendations will also be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver regular English language training sessions for UNICEF staff, both individually and in groups as applicable.

Assist participants in improving their written and oral communication skills, including crafting emails, writing reports, preparing presentations, and participating in meetings.
Conduct periodic assessments to monitor the learning progress of participants.
Provide monthly progress reports detailing participant progress and recommendations for further learning.
Submit a final report summarizing all activities implemented, participation rates, progress achieved, and recommendations for future training.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
Professional certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in teaching English as a second or foreign language is required.
Demonstrated experience in delivering English language training to adult learners in professional or corporate environments is essential.
Experience in conducting language assessments and developing customized learning plans is necessary.
Proven ability to design interactive and practical training materials is required.
Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or development partners is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Additionally, a professional certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable, indicating a strong foundation in language instruction and pedagogy.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in teaching English as a second or foreign language. This experience should include delivering English language training specifically to adult learners in professional or corporate environments. Furthermore, candidates should have experience in conducting language assessments and developing customized learning plans, as well as a proven ability to design interactive and practical training materials. Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or development partners is also beneficial and will be viewed favorably.
Languages: The mandatory language requirement for this position is excellent spoken and written English. Additionally, a good command of French is also required, as it may be necessary for communication with staff and participants who are French speakers.
