Job Overview:
The Event Management and Monitoring Consultant will provide essential support for various programs aimed at empowering girls through education, addressing child marriage, increasing accountability on female genital mutilation, and enhancing gender-responsive social protection in Southeast Asia. The consultant will be responsible for event management, which includes organizing venues, catering, participant travel, and other logistical tasks for upcoming knowledge products and events. Additionally, the consultant will monitor the financial status of the programs by liaising with budget and program focal points, preparing administrative and programmatic documents, and supporting the Climate, Education, and CP Programme Associate with invoice submissions and other program implementation tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of UNICEF's initiatives in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive event management support for all upcoming knowledge products and events related to the specified programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including venue selection, catering arrangements, and participant travel.
  • Liaise with budget and program focal points to monitor the financial status of the programs.
  • Prepare relevant administrative and programmatic documents in collaboration with partners and consultants.
  • Assist the Climate, Education, and CP Programme Associate with invoice submissions and other program implementation support tasks.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members and stakeholders involved in the programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of events and financial transactions related to the programs.
  • Provide timely updates and reports on the progress of events and program activities to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Social Science, Political Science, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the context of international organizations or UN agencies.
  • Proven experience in organizing large-scale multi-country events, particularly those hosted in Thailand.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Thai, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Social Science, Political Science, or Business Administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of the programs and the administrative tasks involved in event management and monitoring.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, particularly in administrative roles. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable, and previous experience with UNICEF is considered an asset. Candidates should have a proven track record of organizing large-scale events, particularly in a multi-country context, and should be adept at managing logistical and administrative tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Thai is mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills in both languages are essential for effective collaboration and engagement with stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
