Job Overview: The Logistics Supervisor will oversee, monitor, verify, and ensure that all logistical activities executed under assigned projects adhere to UNDP norms and procedures, as well as applicable administrative and operational standards. This role is critical in guaranteeing that documentation, reports, processes, and decisions made by Responsible Parties are coherent, traceable, verifiable, and compliant with UNDP regulations, contributing to transparent management and the appropriate use of project resources. The supervisor will facilitate and mediate coordination between Responsible Parties and other public and private actors to ensure smooth communication, compliance with agreements and responsibilities, and mitigate potential conflicts that could affect the operational and administrative management of the project. The position requires a proactive approach to risk management and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a focus on achieving project goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties: A. Normative, contractual, and documentary supervision: Systematically review the execution reported by Responsible Parties (RPs) to verify coherence with the Agreement of Responsible Parties, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures. B. Technical and administrative review of reports: Ensure consistency between physical and financial progress, integrity of documentation, and compliance with KPIs and monthly targets. C. Monitoring and verification of data: Supervise the update of monitoring systems, ensuring data consistency and timely alerts for any discrepancies. D. Technical coordination and institutional follow-up: Maintain formal communication with RPs, organize follow-up meetings, and prepare internal reports for project coordination. E. Compliance with UNDP policies: Verify adherence to mandatory policies, document any incidents, and prepare evidence for audits. F. Facilitate knowledge sharing within the Country Office: Organize logistics training and contribute to knowledge networks.
Required Qualifications: The position requires the following qualifications: Minimum academic qualifications include a Secondary Education diploma (Diversified Level). University studies (Bachelor's degree or Engineering) in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field will be given due consideration but are not mandatory. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience is required with a Secondary Education diploma, or four (4) years with a University degree. Required skills include logistical supervision, document control, data analysis, technical follow-up, risk management, and institutional communication. Desired skills include experience in rural logistics, logistical auditing, GIS knowledge, contractual control, and inter-institutional coordination.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Secondary Education diploma as a minimum requirement. While not mandatory, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred and will be considered favorably during the selection process.
Experience: The level of experience required for this position includes a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience for candidates with a Secondary Education diploma, or four (4) years for those with a University degree. Experience in project management, logistical supervision, and document control is essential, along with a proven track record in data analysis and risk management.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, while a basic level of English is also required. Candidates should demonstrate their proficiency in both languages, indicating their ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
