Job Overview:
The Health Specialist position within the Community Health Delivery Partnership (CHDP) is crucial for providing technical support to enhance community health systems globally. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the P4 Health Specialist and will be responsible for coordinating the CHDP platform, engaging with countries and partners, and ensuring alignment with national priorities. This role involves supporting governments in implementing community health strategies and tracking progress in institutionalizing community health initiatives. The position emphasizes advocacy, partnerships, and knowledge management to improve health outcomes for children and communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide coordinated technical assistance to countries and partners involved in community health initiatives.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to promote community health priorities at national and global levels.
  • Facilitate partnerships and collaborations to enhance resource mobilization for community health.
  • Support the measurement and knowledge management processes to track progress and share best practices.
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of community health strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of frameworks and standards for community health delivery.
  • Participate in capacity-building efforts for stakeholders involved in community health programming.
  • Undertake other assigned duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in Environment, Environmental Applied Engineering, Environmental Science/Health, or Public Health.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in community or primary health care, including health planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Proven skills in partnership development, technical assistance, coordination, knowledge management, resource mobilization, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of community health systems and relevant health programs.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in a relevant field such as Environment, Environmental Applied Engineering, Environmental Science/Health, or Public Health. This educational background is essential to ensure the incumbent has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to community health initiatives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience at the national and/or international level in community or primary health care. This experience should include health planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs that are relevant to child survival and development. Experience in managerial or technical expert roles in community health programming is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset and is desirable for enhancing communication and collaboration in diverse settings.
