Job Overview: The role of the individual consultant is to provide technical support and guidance on gender-transformative education programmes, particularly focusing on the empowerment of girls and the transition of young people to decent work. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for coordinating with ASEAN, SEAMEO, and UN agencies to organize a Community of Practice Meeting, a regional workshop, and a side event for a regional event. They will collate UNICEF Country Office inputs for donor progress and annual reports, provide technical inputs for strategies on girls’ skills and transitions to decent work, and support the planning of key regional engagements. Additionally, the consultant will organize consultations with young people to inform programme design and advocacy priorities, and contribute to overall programme coordination by tracking deliverables and ensuring quality and coherence of outputs related to gender-transformative climate resilience for children.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in gender, education, social science, international development, adolescent development, or a related field. They should have at least five years of progressively responsible work experience in areas related to adolescents, cross-sectoral programme design, and knowledge management, with recognized technical expertise in adolescent girls’ empowerment and partnerships with young people. Proven experience in coordinating high-level events focused on girls’ empowerment and skills building is essential.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as gender studies, education, social sciences, international development, or adolescent development is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender-transformative education and the empowerment of young people.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, particularly in working with adolescents and in cross-sectoral programme design.
