Job Overview: The Operational Due Diligence Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Bureau for Management Services’ Office of Financial Resources Management (BMS/OFRM) at UNDP. This position involves providing administrative, coordination, and analytical support to the Treasury Division, which oversees cash, currency, and banking risks globally. The Associate will work closely with various teams within BMS and other units to ensure the effective implementation of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policies. The role requires maintaining highly confidential records and databases, conducting research, and providing corporate reporting and analytics. The Associate will also be responsible for ensuring administrative support for AML/CFT policy implementation, managing office operations, and facilitating knowledge sharing within the division. This position is essential for enhancing UNDP's financial integrity and operational effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Provide administrative support for the implementation of the AML/CFT Policy, including preparing and facilitating signatures for internal documentation, ensuring accurate data entry and updates across AML/CFT databases, and addressing day-to-day sanction queries from banks and Country Offices. 2) Conduct research and provide corporate reporting and analytics by supporting the collection of vetting data and assisting with monitoring and tracking cases. 3) Manage overall administration and office management for the BMS/Treasury/Operational Due Diligence Division, including onboarding new personnel, initiating vendor profile creation, and supporting the annual work planning process. 4) Collaborate with Treasury Operations Teams on AML/CFT related queries, proactively identifying operational measures to mitigate risks and recommending automation solutions. 5) Facilitate knowledge sharing and support the development of the division's workplan, organizing knowledge events on operational due diligence. The Associate will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed Secondary Education with specialized certification in Data Management, Business Operations, Accounting, Information Systems, or Office Automation. A university degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Law is preferred but not mandatory. Certificates related to AML/CFT or financial crimes are advantageous. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage structured data and repetitive processes effectively.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes completion of Secondary Education with specialized certification in relevant fields. A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Law will be considered favorably. Additional certifications related to AML/CFT or financial crimes are a plus, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of six years of relevant experience with Secondary Education or three years with a bachelor's degree. This experience should include data management, information systems, business operations, office automation, finance, accounting, business administration, or law, with at least two years of AML/CFT screening experience. Proficiency in using Excel and document-based tools to streamline workflows is required, along with experience in ERP financial systems. Experience working with UN common system entities or similar organizations is preferred, as is a demonstrated interest in risk management and financial crimes.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing communication capabilities within the organization and with international partners.
