Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF Benin's efforts in results-based reporting, proposal development, and compliance with donor requirements. This position involves maintaining an updated calendar of donor reporting requirements, editing and finalizing donor reports, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF standards. The consultant will also support resource mobilization through the development of compelling proposals and maintain strong relationships with partners. Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain an updated calendar of all donor reporting requirements.
Edit, fact-check, consolidate, format, and finalize high-quality donor reports.
Ensure reports meet UNICEF standards for results-based reporting and donor-specific templates.
Upload final reports timely into FIORI and SharePoint.
Track reporting progress and flag delays or bottlenecks.
Coach program staff on results-based reporting and proposal writing.
Support sections in developing concept notes, funding proposals, and budgets.
Ensure proposals comply with donor templates.
Maintain donor intelligence sheets and funding trends. 1
Support preparation of internal reports and perform other duties as required to support the Partnerships Unit.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, Human Rights, Communication, Public Administration, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in donor reporting, proposal writing, and grants management, along with at least 2 years in humanitarian or development programming. Experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is preferred, as well as knowledge of UNICEF systems for donor relations and reporting.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Advanced degrees may be advantageous but are not mandatory. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the position, emphasizing international relations, social sciences, or related disciplines.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in donor reporting, proposal writing, and grants management. Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in humanitarian or development programming, with a strong preference for those who have worked with UN agencies or international NGOs. Familiarity with donor conditions from various international funding bodies is a significant asset.
