Job Overview: The Communications Analyst position is integral to the UNDP's efforts in Peru, requiring close collaboration with various teams, including Programme, Operations, and project teams, as well as external stakeholders such as government officials, media, and civil society. The Communications Analyst is responsible for producing high-quality communication materials and utilizing targeted communication channels to enhance UNDP's visibility and mobilize support for Sustainable Development Goals. This position demands a proactive approach to communication strategy planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that UNDP's work is effectively communicated to diverse audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Support the planning and design of internal and external communication strategies, conducting needs assessments and providing input to the communications strategy based on strategic priorities. 2) Manage country office publication activities, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and maintaining contact with suppliers for production and dissemination. 3) Provide technical support for digital communications, including social media and web content management, ensuring timely updates and engagement. 4) Contribute to UNDP's campaign initiatives, promoting awareness of UNDP's mandate and goals through various communication materials and public information campaigns. 5) Assist in knowledge management and dissemination, identifying best practices and supporting training for UNDP staff on knowledge management systems. The incumbent may also supervise communications personnel within the Country Office and perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two years of relevant experience will be considered. Applicants with a master's degree are not required to have prior professional experience, while those with a bachelor's degree must have at least two years of relevant experience in communication, journalism, public relations, or related fields. Additional relevant experience will be positively weighted during evaluation.
