Job Overview:
The consultant will provide lifesaving and timely nutrition treatment within existing health facilities in Karamoja and refugee communities. The primary function of this role is to support the nutrition supply chain to prevent stockouts and ensure the timely availability of supplies for treating children with severe wasting. This consultancy aims to deliver day-to-day supply chain support to the government for the surge nutrition humanitarian response, ensuring that nutrition supplies are effectively managed and distributed to meet urgent needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for managing the national nutrition supply chain linked to subnational supply chains in Karamoja and refugee areas. Key responsibilities include conducting performance reviews of the nutrition supply chain, overseeing lifesaving nutrition supply chain management, ensuring timely distributions of nutrition supplies, and facilitating knowledge management related to nutrition supply chains. The consultant will also engage with government entities and other stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the nutrition response.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master's) in Nutrition, Supply Chain Management, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Additionally, they should have strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in relevant computer software, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Experience in nutrition supply chain strengthening and collaboration with government entities in nutrition and public health is essential.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree (Master's) in a relevant field such as Nutrition, Supply Chain Management, Public Health, or Business Administration is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of nutrition supply chains and the public health landscape.

Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in nutrition planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is required. Candidates should have experience in strengthening nutrition supply chains and working with government entities in nutrition and public health sectors. Experience in nutrition emergency response is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse communities in Uganda.

The contract duration for this consultancy is 5 months, and the working arrangement is office-based with travel requirements.
