Job Overview: The Economic Recovery Officer plays a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and oversight of Economic Recovery activities. This position is under the supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader and is responsible for ensuring that the Economic Recovery programs are executed efficiently and align with DRC's standards and objectives. The officer will be involved in various aspects of program delivery, including livelihoods, capacity building, emergency preparedness, and income-generating interventions. The role requires active engagement with stakeholders, field supervision, and contributions to assessments and reporting, ensuring that the programs maintain a high level of quality and effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Economic Recovery Officer will be tasked with a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Upholding professional standards in Economic Recovery programming; implementing program activities related to livelihoods and capacity building; conducting field assessments such as focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and surveys; monitoring program activities and providing analytical feedback; ensuring proper documentation of activities in accordance with DRC procedures; co-facilitating training sessions and workshops; coordinating program events like job fairs; contributing to beneficiary selection processes; assisting in grant delivery including business plan reviews; liaising with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team; ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs); and maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for producing timely reports on program activities, developing relationships with local partners, and ensuring the timely preparation of procurement documentation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Economic Recovery Officer position should possess at least 2 years of professional experience in Economic Recovery programming, particularly in areas such as livelihoods, capacity building, and income-generating activities. Experience in social work, humanitarian interventions, or community development is desirable. Familiarity with working alongside Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and local communities is also beneficial. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a good level of computer literacy, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
