Job Overview:
The position of Especialista en refrigeración is focused on promoting the application of good environmental practices in the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector in Peru. The role is crucial in ensuring that the practices adopted in this sector are environmentally friendly and sustainable. The specialist will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on best practices, helping to implement strategies that minimize environmental impact while enhancing efficiency in refrigeration systems. This position requires a deep understanding of refrigeration technologies, environmental regulations, and sustainable practices. The specialist will work remotely, allowing for flexibility in managing tasks and collaborating with stakeholders across different locations. The role is expected to last for a period of 180 calendar days, during which the specialist will engage with various partners and contribute to the development of guidelines and recommendations for the sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Especialista en refrigeración include but are not limited to:

• Conducting assessments of current practices in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector to identify areas for improvement.
• Developing and promoting guidelines for the implementation of environmentally friendly practices in the RAC sector.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector entities, and NGOs, to foster partnerships aimed at enhancing sustainability in refrigeration practices.
• Providing training and capacity-building sessions for industry professionals on best practices and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented practices and making recommendations for further improvements.
• Preparing reports and documentation on findings, recommendations, and progress made during the consultancy period.
• Engaging in continuous learning and staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in the refrigeration sector.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the position include:

• A strong background in refrigeration technology, environmental science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in promoting sustainable practices within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.
• Knowledge of international environmental standards and regulations related to refrigeration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess practices and recommend improvements.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote working environment.

Educational Background:
Candidates are expected to have at least a bachelor's degree in refrigeration technology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or additional certifications in sustainable development or environmental management would be an advantage. Continuous professional development in relevant areas is also encouraged.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, with a focus on sustainability and environmental practices. Experience working with international organizations or in consultancy roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in Peru and experience in capacity building or training initiatives will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and the preparation of documentation in Spanish. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for engaging with international partners and accessing global resources.

This position is a consultancy role with a contract duration of 180 days. It is a remote position, allowing for flexibility in work hours and location. The consultant will be expected to submit proposals and reports through the UNDP supplier portal.
