Job Overview:
The Business Analyst (Investment) position at UNICEF is crucial for supporting the organization's Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) efforts. The role involves designing, testing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on various investment vehicles that facilitate fundraising growth across National Committees and UNICEF country offices. The position requires collaboration with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective financial reporting and the development of tools for investment in fundraising. The analyst will also be responsible for data analysis and providing support to stakeholders, ensuring that funds are utilized effectively and efficiently to maximize impact for children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor funds utilization effectively to ensure that investments in fundraising are being used appropriately.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting of investments in fundraising expenses.
  • Support the design and development of tools for investment in fundraising initiatives.
  • Conduct data analysis to inform decision-making and strategy development.
  • Provide support to stakeholders and client service, ensuring that their needs are met and that they have access to the necessary information.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst (Investment) and other teams to align on objectives and strategies.
  • Analyze and report on the performance of various investment vehicles, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Engage with multiple countries and regions to understand their unique fundraising challenges and opportunities.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manage large datasets and perform complex analyses. 1
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding fundraising strategies and investments.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in business analysis is required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and standard office applications are essential.
  • Proven experience managing large datasets and using pivot tables is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple countries/regions and multiple currencies is necessary.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools and experience in coordinating cross-functional teams is an asset.
  • Proficiency in database management and data warehousing is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary for effective analysis and reporting in a financial context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in business analysis. This experience should include working with financial data, conducting analyses, and supporting decision-making processes. Experience in international contexts, particularly in development or humanitarian settings, is highly valued and will enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
