SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been operational in South Sudan since 2006, focusing on emergency and post-emergency contexts, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. The organization addresses critical issues such as food insecurity, which is among the highest globally, exacerbated by recurring shocks like flooding and conflict-based displacement. SI has a significant presence in South Sudan, particularly in Upper Nile, where it operates in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis, including cholera outbreaks and the influx of refugees due to the war in Sudan. The organization employs over 100 staff members and manages a budget exceeding USD 9 million, funded by various international donors. SI is committed to providing high-quality humanitarian assistance and ensuring proper coordination with other actors in the field to avoid duplication of efforts.

Job Overview:
The LogAdmin Manager will oversee the support departments for the Ulang team, coordinating logistics, administration, and HR processes. This role serves as a vital link between the field team and the coordination office in Juba. The manager will be responsible for developing and revising necessary tools, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and guidelines to ensure flexibility and control within the WASH and FSL programs. The position requires a proactive approach to managing supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation related to stock management. The LogAdmin Manager will also implement safety measures and communicate security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-related information to the line manager. The initial focus will be on reviewing and strengthening processes and SOPs, building the capacity of the Admin supervisor, and supporting timely material supply for programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplies by selecting storage locations, ensuring suitable conditions for material storage, and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures during stock check-ins and check-outs, maintaining complete and correct documentation.
  • Supervise monthly physical stock inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement team safety measures as determined by the coordination team and relay security-related information to the line manager.
  • Review and strengthen existing processes and SOPs, ensuring they are effectively rolled out.
  • Build the capacity of the Admin supervisor to enhance team performance.
  • Support program teams to ensure timely supply of materials for ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate with the Juba office to align logistics and administrative processes with organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous monitoring and evaluation of logistics and administrative functions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
  • A diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in logistics and administration.
  • Proven experience in similar positions, demonstrating strong procurement, supplies, and storage management skills in conflict areas.
  • Experience in supporting base scale-up in volatile conflict contexts and managing teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with LINK software is considered an asset.
  • Strong financial management skills, particularly in remote areas, and knowledge of SI processes and tools.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and administrative management in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires 3-4 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on logistics and administration. Candidates should have a proven track record in similar roles, particularly in conflict-affected areas, demonstrating the ability to manage supplies and coordinate teams effectively under pressure.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance. The salary starts from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2100 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every two months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Essential vaccinations and antimalarial treatment costs are also reimbursed. Living conditions in the field are rudimentary and can be precarious, with limited social opportunities and basic amenities. In Juba, accommodations are provided in a shared guesthouse with other international staff, offering more stable living conditions.
