Job Overview:
The Consultant (Video Maker) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the "Integrated Territorial Planning: Strategies for Municipal Resilience" course, scheduled from June to August 202
  • This position involves recording and editing video lessons, ensuring high-quality production that aligns with the project's visual identity. The consultant will be responsible for creating engaging and informative video content that is accessible to all audiences, including those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The consultant will work closely with UN-Habitat’s operational and technical teams to ensure that the course materials meet the required standards and are delivered on time. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multimedia content and maintaining an organized archive of all produced materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant (Video Maker) will have several key responsibilities, including: a) Recording video lessons for the course. b) Editing video and audio content, which includes segmenting lessons, adding descriptive subtitles, and integrating visual elements that align with the project's visual identity. c) Ensuring consistency across all video materials and maintaining an organized multimedia archive. d) Utilizing their own licensed software and audiovisual equipment, taking full responsibility for any associated costs or damages. e) Completing all required courses and training activities as directed by the supervisor, including the mandatory BSAFE security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security course from UNDSS within the first month of employment. f) Familiarizing themselves with United Nations security mechanisms and complying with them as per the Framework of Accountability for the United Nations Security Management System. The consultant will also be responsible for delivering specific products, including a workplan and the edited video lessons, within the stipulated timelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Film Studies, or related fields. Alternatively, candidates with an additional three years of relevant experience beyond the educational requirement will also be considered. A minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and production in Brazil is required, along with a portfolio available upon request. Experience in recording and editing video lessons or online courses is essential, and prior experience within the UN System is desirable. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or equivalent is required, along with basic skills in graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop. Familiarity with online meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams is also desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Communications, Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Film Studies, or related areas. Candidates with additional experience in lieu of formal education may also be considered, specifically those with three or more years of relevant experience in video production and editing.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and production, specifically within Brazil. Candidates should have a proven track record of recording and editing educational content, such as online courses or video lessons. Experience working within the UN System is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the organization's standards and practices.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication. Additionally, working knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable, given that English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, and Spanish is the working language of the Regional Office.

Additional Notes:
This position is part-time (48%) and is classified under the LICA 1 salary scale, with a total net remuneration of BRL 15,00
  • The consultant will receive BRL 11,000, distributed in two payments: 30% upon delivery and approval of the workplan and 70% upon delivery and approval of the edited video lessons. The appointment is on a local basis, and only nationals from Brazil or candidates with a permanent visa in Brazil may apply. The contract's extension is contingent upon the availability of funds and performance, and any extension is not guaranteed.
