Job Overview: This internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Learning and Development Team of the Development and Conduct Unit, Human Resources Management Section, Division of Administration (DA) at ESCAP. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Human Resources Officer. The internship is designed to be full-time, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, and is unpaid, lasting a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the team in various tasks related to the production of videos and multimedia materials for online courses and other learning channels aimed at enhancing staff learning and development within ESCAP. The daily responsibilities of the intern will vary based on their background and the internship period, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multimedia production and learning development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting in editing scripts and storyboards for videos, animations, and other multimedia content used in learning materials and communications; producing and editing multimedia content, including videos, motion graphics, and visual assets; applying quality standards and conducting accessibility checks to ensure all multimedia products meet required guidelines; preparing multimedia materials, including formatting and optimizing files, and supporting integration and testing within the Learning Management System; organizing, versioning, and maintaining multimedia files while ensuring secure storage on shared platforms such as SharePoint; documenting processes, templates, and production steps to support consistency and facilitate future updates to multimedia materials; and performing other related work as required to support the development of learning products and communication initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for applicants to the UN Internship Programme, a field of study closely related to the internship type is essential. Additionally, applicants must possess good knowledge of standard software applications, including MS Office and multimedia production applications. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Studio, CapCut, and Canva is desirable, as is knowledge of Generative AI tools and Moodle, which is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes either enrollment in or completion of a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent) or enrollment in or completion of the final academic year of a first university degree programme, which must be at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the tasks and responsibilities associated with the internship.
Experience: While the internship does not require prior professional work experience, it is essential that applicants have a field of study that is closely related to the internship they are applying for. This ensures that the intern has the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the Learning and Development Team.
