Job Overview:

  • This role emphasizes the renewal, reactivation, and upgrading of the mass market donor file. The Senior Manager collaborates closely with the Director of Direct Marketing, the Mass Market Fundraising team, and various internal and external partners to develop compelling direct response messaging and storytelling that aligns with Mercy Corps' brand goals. The position involves managing offline channels such as direct mail and telemarketing, ensuring accurate donation processing, and tracking campaign performance. The Senior Manager is also responsible for maintaining campaign schedules and integrating efforts across key donor segments and channels, utilizing project management processes to meet deadlines effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will engage in a variety of essential responsibilities, including: developing annual campaign goals in alignment with Mercy Corps' integrated mass market fundraising strategy; managing direct mail segmentation and list selection; overseeing direct mail testing strategies and tracking results; supporting budget development and tracking for direct mail campaigns; creating cross-channel experiences; contributing to the content strategy calendar; researching trends in direct mail and offline marketing; managing agency partners to adapt strategies into actionable plans; evaluating direct mail systems for efficiency; collaborating with the MMF team for user experience alignment; leading the production of mass market content; ensuring compliance with fundraising guidelines; analyzing campaign performance and adapting strategies based on data; and actively promoting safeguarding practices within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 6 years in direct response fundraising marketing is required, demonstrating progressive responsibility and expertise, particularly in nonprofit fundraising. Applicants should have a proven track record of translating fundraising strategies into effective multi-channel campaigns, utilizing storytelling to drive impact, and adapting communication styles for diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience managing vendor relationships are essential. Educational Background:
