Job Overview:
The position of Consultant within UNESCO's Culture Sector focuses on the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators initiative, which aims to measure and monitor the contribution of culture to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The consultant will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing activities related to this initiative, working closely with various stakeholders and experts. The role involves planning, monitoring, and evaluating program activities, supporting the finalization of project outputs for multiple countries and cities, and developing project proposals to expand the implementation of the Culture|2030 Indicators. The consultant will also refine methodologies, provide capacity-building support, and contribute to the development of knowledge products related to cultural statistics and sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include planning, monitoring, and evaluating program activities in line with UNESCO's approved projects. They will review and support the finalization of project outputs for ten countries and cities, design project proposals, and support the refinement of the Culture|2030 Indicators methodology. The consultant will also research and contribute to the development of a knowledge base on the program, maintain the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators Data Bank, and compile global datasets. They will assess capacity development needs, contribute to analytical reports, and provide methodological support for data collection models. The consultant will be expected to deliver monthly progress reports and ensure the achievement of targets by the end of the contract period.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or a Master's degree in economics, financial economics, econometrics, or business administration. They should have at least 10 years of relevant experience at the international level in sustainable development and culture or cultural statistics, with substantial experience in international collaboration and cross-country analysis. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience in cultural statistics, budget planning, and project management, as well as excellent communication and writing skills. Proven diplomatic skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary groups are essential.

Educational Background:
A university degree or Master's degree in a relevant field such as economics, financial economics, econometrics, or business administration is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of cultural statistics and sustainable development frameworks.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience at the international level, particularly in sustainable development and culture or cultural statistics. This experience should include substantial roles involving international collaboration, global frameworks, or cross-country analysis, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex projects and work with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to UNESCO's work and the regions involved in the Culture|2030 Indicators initiative.
