Job Overview: The National Consultant for Place-to-Place Survey in Bangladesh will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive survey that aims to gather data on various aspects of place-to-place interactions within the country. The consultant will work closely with UNDP to ensure that the survey aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. The position is expected to last for one month, from May 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026, and the consultant will be required to submit a detailed proposal outlining their approach to the survey. The consultant will also need to communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on the progress of the survey.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant for Place-to-Place Survey include but are not limited to:
Designing the survey methodology and tools to ensure comprehensive data collection.
Conducting field surveys and interviews as necessary to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Analyzing the collected data and preparing reports that summarize findings and insights.
Collaborating with UNDP staff and other stakeholders to ensure the survey meets its objectives.
Providing recommendations based on survey findings to inform policy and program decisions.
Ensuring compliance with ethical standards and data protection regulations throughout the survey process.
Presenting findings to UNDP and other relevant parties in a clear and concise manner.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in conducting surveys and data analysis, particularly in a development context.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Bangladesh and its development challenges.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Educational Background: Candidates should have at least a Master's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, statistics, or development studies. A PhD or equivalent experience in a related area will be considered an asset. Additional certifications in survey methodology or data analysis will also be beneficial.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in conducting surveys, data collection, and analysis is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UN system and its operational procedures will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Bengali or other local languages is considered a strong asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and participants in the survey.
Additional Notes: This position is for a short-term consultancy lasting one month. The consultant will work on a full-time basis during this period. The role is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
