Job Overview: The consultancy role involves developing a comprehensive Scaling Strategy for a Data Integrator Tool that facilitates real-time data collection and integration across various data sources. The consultant will work closely with the WASH Hub technical team to create a structured approach that outlines the steps and strategies necessary for scaling the solution from demonstration countries to broader implementation. The strategy will address local challenges, foster partnerships, and ensure sustainable impact over time, adapting to changing contexts as the innovation grows.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's responsibilities include conducting a desktop review and situational analysis of existing Data Integration solutions, defining the scaling vision and model for global adoption, and developing an implementation roadmap. The consultant will also create a scaling strategy to expand the solution into multiple countries, identify risks and mitigation approaches, outline deployment package requirements, and describe use cases for the data integration tool. Capacity development is also a key aspect of the role.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in relevant fields such as Business Development, ICTD, or Systems Thinking. A first University Degree combined with additional professional experience may be accepted. The role requires a strong background in service design and systems thinking, with at least 3 years of experience in service design and 8 years overall in relevant disciplines. Proven experience in scaling digital innovations, managing cross-sector projects, and strategy development is essential, along with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in Business Development, ICTD, Service Design, Systems Thinking, AI systems, or other relevant digital fields is required. Alternatively, a first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years specifically in service design or systems thinking. Experience in scaling digital innovations and managing complex projects in both private and development sectors is crucial. Familiarity with climate, groundwater, or environmental datasets, as well as experience in developing, fragile, or emergency contexts, is also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and familiarity with tools like MS Office, PowerPoint, and Power BI is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The consultancy involves travel, with costs for trips to Copenhagen, Angola, and Madagascar included in the financial proposal. Payment for professional fees will be based on the submission of agreed deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if standards are not met.
