Job Overview: The position of National Expert for Lumbini Province under the PLGSP (Provincial Local Governance Support Project) entails providing expert advice and support to enhance local governance in the Lumbini Province of Nepal. Duties and Responsibilities: The National Expert will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including conducting assessments of local governance practices, facilitating workshops and training sessions for local government officials, providing technical assistance in the formulation of local development plans, and monitoring and evaluating the implementation of governance initiatives. Additionally, the expert will be expected to prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations, collaborate with other experts and stakeholders to promote best practices in governance, and support the establishment of mechanisms for citizen engagement and accountability in local governance processes. The expert will also play a crucial role in ensuring that gender and social inclusion are integrated into all governance activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in public administration, governance, or a related field. A proven track record of working with local government institutions and experience in capacity building and institutional development is essential. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Familiarity with the political and social context of Nepal, particularly in relation to local governance, is highly desirable.
