Job Overview:
The position involves the implementation and field validation of a bioproduct utilizing Trichoderma asperellum. This will be conducted through the establishment of demonstration plots and training processes for producers. The role is crucial in ensuring that the bioproduct is effectively integrated into agricultural practices, enhancing productivity and sustainability. The contractor will be expected to engage with local farmers, provide training, and monitor the outcomes of the bioproduct application in real-world settings. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement the bioproduct in designated agricultural fields, ensuring adherence to project guidelines and protocols.
  • Establish demonstration plots to showcase the effectiveness of Trichoderma asperellum in enhancing crop yields.
  • Conduct training sessions for local producers on the application and benefits of the bioproduct.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the bioproduct in the field, collecting data and feedback from producers.
  • Prepare reports on the implementation process, challenges faced, and recommendations for future applications.
  • Collaborate with local agricultural experts and stakeholders to ensure the successful adoption of the bioproduct.
  • Maintain communication with UNDP and provide updates on project progress and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in agricultural sciences or a related field. Experience in fieldwork, particularly in the implementation of agricultural products, is essential. Knowledge of bioproducts and sustainable agricultural practices will be highly regarded. Strong communication skills are required to effectively train and engage with local producers. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on achieving project goals.

Educational Background:
A degree in agricultural sciences, environmental science, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in sustainable agriculture or bioproduct development will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of agricultural practices and bioproduct applications.

Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in agricultural fieldwork, particularly in the implementation and validation of agricultural products. Experience working with local farmers and communities is highly desirable. Familiarity with project management and monitoring and evaluation processes will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the role involves direct communication with local producers. Proficiency in English is a plus, as it may be required for reporting and communication with UNDP stakeholders. Additional languages relevant to the local context may also be advantageous.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration is for 121 effective working days within a total period of 230 calendar days. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and candidates should be prepared for a flexible work schedule. The role may involve travel to various agricultural sites within Ecuador.
