Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
UNICEF, established in 1946, operates in over 190 countries and territories with a mission to save the lives of children and adolescents, defend their rights, and help them reach their full potential. The organization focuses on creating a collaborative and integrated organizational culture, particularly in UNICEF Chile, which is aligned with the challenges the office faces through 2026.

Job Overview:
The consultancy aims to design, facilitate, and systematize the implementation of the DISC exercise as a development tool for team building at UNICEF Chile. The goal is to enhance self-awareness, effective communication, cross-collaboration, and leadership strengthening within the office. The consultant will be responsible for translating the use of DISC into a practical, applicable experience that fits the institutional context of UNICEF Chile. This exercise will serve as a professional development tool rather than an evaluation tool, fostering a common language regarding work styles and communication, and supporting more concrete discussions about leadership, coexistence, and collaboration across areas. The consultancy is expected to contribute to strengthening the whole office approach and promoting more integrated work among areas, improving understanding of different interaction styles, communication, and decision-making processes, providing practical tools for strengthening mid-management and everyday leadership, supporting change management in a context of organizational transformation, and enhancing workplace climate, coexistence, and internal communication through a more empathetic understanding of style differences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design a methodological proposal for implementing the DISC exercise, including facilitation approach, activity sequence, and minimum requirements. This should include a preparatory session of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, ideally scheduled for the week of May 11-15, 2026, or another agreed date.
  • Facilitate the main DISC exercise during the team building event on either May 25 or 26, 2026, providing group feedback on predominant styles, strengths, and potential blind spots, along with practical exercises to understand interactions between different profiles.
  • Deliver a final report summarizing the methodology applied, key findings observed during the process, relevant conclusions, and potential future action lines for using this input in leadership, team development, collaboration, and workplace coexistence.
  • Ensure that the facilitation is practical, participatory, and applicable, translating findings into concrete recommendations for collaboration and work dynamics.
  • Coordinate with UNICEF Chile regarding logistical aspects of the team building, internal invitations, and management of DISC licenses, which will not be the consultant's responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a professional background in psychology, organizational development, human resources, coaching, education, or related fields. They must possess certification or proven experience in applying and facilitating DISC tools, along with demonstrable experience in team facilitation, leadership, team development, interpersonal communication, and change management. Experience in facilitating group processes with leadership teams, mid-management, or corporate offices is essential. The candidate should be capable of conducting sessions in Spanish with a practical, participatory, and applied focus, and should have the ability to translate exercise findings into concrete recommendations for collaboration and work dynamics. Previous experience with international organizations, the United Nations, or other multicultural contexts is desirable.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in psychology, organizational development, human resources, coaching, education, or similar disciplines is required. Additional certifications in DISC facilitation or related methodologies will be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in facilitating team-building exercises, particularly using DISC or similar tools. They should have a proven track record of working with leadership teams and managing group dynamics effectively. Experience in organizational change management and development is also crucial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all sessions will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in English or other languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to be conducted on a contractual basis, with specific deliverables and timelines outlined. The consultant will not be considered a staff member of UNICEF and will not receive benefits associated with staff positions. Payment will be contingent upon the delivery and acceptance of agreed-upon products. The consultant is responsible for their tax obligations and must ensure that all necessary visas and medical insurance are valid throughout the contract period. Candidates must confirm their full vaccination status against COVID-19 as per WHO guidelines, unless they are working remotely and not interacting directly with UNICEF's programs or communities.
