The Istanbul Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD), established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Türkiye, is one of the five Global Thematic Policy Centers of UNDP, focusing on engaging the private sector and foundations in development efforts.

Job Overview:
The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Sustainable Finance Hub (SFH) at UNDP, particularly in areas related to impact investing and SDG financing. The position is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in research, writing, and project implementation within a global organization. Interns will be expected to contribute to various initiatives and projects, providing valuable insights and support in the development of knowledge materials and communications strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and to learn about the intersection of finance and sustainable development, while also enhancing the intern's skills in research, writing, and digital content creation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Conducting research and providing writing and editing support on topics related to impact investing and SDG financing.
  • Assisting in the publication of knowledge stories and best practices in these areas.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of initiatives, projects, or programs aimed at advancing the goals of the SFH.
  • Providing administrative support as needed to ensure smooth operations within the team.
  • Preparing communications materials such as speeches, brochures, success stories, and social media content.
  • Collaborating on the development and execution of online content, including images, infographics, videos, and blogs, to be shared across various social media platforms.
  • Performing any other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements at the time of application: a) be enrolled in a second university degree program (Master's Degree); b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (Bachelor's Degree); or c) have graduated with a university degree in fields such as economics, finance, business, development, international relations, law, public administration, or similar. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of UNDP, as well as possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a Master's degree program or being in the final year of a Bachelor's degree program. Alternatively, candidates who have recently graduated with a degree in relevant fields such as economics, finance, business, development, international relations, law, or public administration are also eligible. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of sustainable development and impact investing.

Experience:
Candidates should have solid experience in academic writing, research, and analysis. Previous experience related to sustainable development, impact investing, or SDG financing is considered an asset. Familiarity with project design and implementation, as well as skills in social media account management and content development, are also desirable. The internship is aimed at individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the work of UNDP, particularly in the context of private sector engagement and sustainable finance.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English and Turkish is required for this position. Knowledge of French or Arabic is considered a desirable asset, and proficiency in another UN language is also beneficial. This multilingual capability will enhance the intern's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to UNDP's global mission.

Additional Notes:
The internship is offered for a minimum duration of 6 weeks and a maximum of 6 months. Interns will receive a stipend according to UNDP Internship Policies, provided they are not financially supported by any institution or program. The stipend amount will be determined based on the duty station's rates published annually. Interns are responsible for arranging their own visa and residence documents, and they must have medical and life insurance valid for the internship location. It is important to note that the internship does not guarantee further employment with UNDP, and candidates should not expect a job offer at the end of the internship period.
